The Archconfraternity of S. Maria dell'Orto, although devoid of any resource, nevertheless managed to survive the hostile sickness. His activity now aimed exclusively at worship was finally recognized for civil purposes, following the Lateran Pacts, with Royal Decree n. 979 of May 17, 1934.

Even today it does not enjoy any funding, contribution, donation, support (neither public nor private), so it can continue its work only thanks to the generosity of the faithful and visitors.
